DC Electronic Loads

CIE Instruments supplies the Vartech EL-600 series of programmable DC electronic loads — instruments designed to simulate real electrical loads for testing batteries, DC power supplies, chargers, DC-DC converters, solar panels, and fuel cells. Unlike a simple resistive load, an electronic load can be programmed to maintain constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance, or constant power — and can perform dynamic load testing with rapid step changes.

The EL-600 (600 W) and EL-600+ (600 W enhanced) are bench-top instruments with front-panel programming and a large digital display showing voltage, current, and power simultaneously. The EL-600+ adds enhanced dynamic testing capability for battery impedance measurement and power supply transient response characterisation.
