CIE® instruments are manufactured at our Howrah works — assembly, testing, and finishing are carried out under our direct supervision. This gives us control over quality at every stage and means our customers deal with the people responsible for the instrument, not an intermediary.
Calibration Before Despatch
Each instrument is calibrated against reference standards at our calibration facility before despatch. A calibration record is maintained for each instrument. Instruments out of warranty can be returned for recalibration at our works.
12-Month Warranty
All CIE® instruments carry a standard warranty of 12 months against manufacturing defects from the date of supply. Any instrument that develops a manufacturing defect within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced by CIE — contact us directly. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accident, or modification.
Custom Manufacturing
Any non-standard test voltage, insulation range, resistance range, current range, or measurement range can be manufactured to the customer's specific requirement. Custom ranges are a standard service at CIE — we have been making custom instruments for utilities and laboratories since the 1960s. Contact us with your specification.
After-Sales Support
After-sales support is handled directly by CIE — not by a distributor network. Contact our Howrah works or Kolkata office. We can advise on instrument selection, application, and calibration intervals. Instruments out of warranty can be repaired and recalibrated at our works.
Accessories Supplied
Key accessories — HV testing leads, earth spikes, wire spools, hammers, and carrying cases — are supplied with the relevant instruments as listed in each product specification. Replacement accessories are available from CIE directly.
Warranty Statement
Cambridge Instruments & Engg. Co. warrants all instruments manufactured under the CIE® mark against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of original purchase. This warranty is provided by the manufacturer and is not limited to the channel of purchase. For warranty claims, contact us directly at cieinstruments@gmail.com.
