About This Instrument
The CIE/777 is a universal, multi-purpose insulation tester for checking insulation and conductance under simulated operating conditions in high-tension electrical and electronic applications. Driven by a mains motor (230 V AC, 50 Hz), the CIE/777 applies test voltage continuously for as long as needed — enabling genuine polarization index (PI) and dielectric absorption testing that hand-cranked instruments cannot sustain. PI is calculated as resistance after 10 minutes ÷ resistance after 1 minute; better results are obtained with longer periods. Housed in a seasoned wooden cabinet with sunmica finish (detachable lid, handle, lock). Guard ring around the line terminal and guard terminal eliminate surface-leakage errors. Externally accessible infinity adjuster provided. Conforms to IS: 2992-1987. Note on HV testing leads: catalogue lists HV leads as an optional, extra-cost accessory; price list states one pair is supplied with every instrument. Confirm with factory before ordering.
